Archive note
If an old bookmark or link brought you here, the page you were looking for no longer exists. This note explains why.
What was here before
- 2000–2001. The address first hosted a small hand-built set of community pages about the Lyttelton Harbour basin: local clubs and organisations, maps, a short introduction to the harbour, e-postcards and pages for the December 2000 celebrations marking 150 years since the first Canterbury Association ships arrived.
- 2005–2012. A local business association used the address for a visitor and business guide, with pages on walks, heritage, the port and events alongside listings for its member businesses. The site carried on through the 2010–11 earthquakes, when many of the places it described were damaged or closed.
- 2013–2016. The address pointed to the association's member directory.
- After 2016 the site went offline and the domain later lapsed.
What is here now
Since October 2026 this address has carried a new, independent guide to the harbour. It is written from scratch and has no connection with the earlier sites, the business association or any business that was listed on them. We have not copied any of the old text, photos, maps or contact details, and we don't keep a business directory.
Where old links go
Old addresses now lead to the closest page in this guide. Visitor information, walks, Quail Island, the Timeball, travel, heritage, the port and events pages go to the matching new story or section. Old member listings, order forms, membership and directory pages come here, because there is nothing to replace them with.
If you are looking for a particular business, the Lyttelton information centre is the best place to start.
