Getting to the Christchurch Gondola.
The Christchurch Gondola Base Station is located in the Heathcote Valley, just 15 minutes drive from downtown Christchurch. There is plenty of free parking for cars, motor-homes and coaches. For those without a vehicle take the Best Attractions express shuttle from Cathedral Square which departs from City Stop and arrives at the Gondola Base Station. $5 adult and $3 child for the return sector. Or buy the $15 adult/$10 child pass that is valid for 24 hours and allows you to travel to the Tram, International Antarctic Centre and Willowbank Wildlife Reserve (entry to attraction is extra). Alternatively catch the City Bus services - No. 28 Lyttelton bus departs from outside the Colombo Street Bus Exchange, opposite Ballantynes. No. 35 Heathcote bus departs from inside the Bus Exchange on Colombo Street. Both depart every 15 minutes and are $2 for a 2-hour return ticket.
